Welcome to The Orchid Hospital

Pediatric

One of the many things you need to do to prepare for your little one's arrival is to choose a doctor to oversee his or her health care. A pediatrician is medical doctor who manages the physical, behavioral, and mental health of children from birth until age 21.

A pediatrician is trained to diagnose and treat a broad range of childhood illnesses from minor health problems to serious diseases. Pediatrician will see your child many times from birth to age 2 and annually from age 2 to age 5 for "well-child visits." After age 5, your pediatrician will likely continue to see your child every year for annual checkups.

Dermatologist

Dermatologists deal with more than 3,000 different diseases, ranging from acne to skin cancer. They can also provide support for cosmetic issues, helping patients to revitalize the appearance of their skin, hair and nails.

The skin is the largest and most visible organ of the body. It reflects the health of the body and acts as a barrier against injury and bacteria. Unfortunately, at one time or another, nearly everyone has some type of skin disease - infants, children, teenagers, adults and the elderly. One in six (15%) of all visits to the family doctor (GP) involves a skin problem.

Gynacologist

Gynecologist is a medical doctor that specializes in women's reproductive systems. Gynecologist monitor some of the same medical conditions in women as her general practitioner. For example, if a woman has diabetes, her gynecological specialist must inform her of how her disease is impacting her reproductive organs.

Gynecologists also diagnose problems that women may be having with their reproductive organs, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome or cervical cancer. They may also check for vaginal infections and urinary tract infections in women complaining of lower abdominal pain or sexual pain. Gynecologists also perform minor surgeries on women's reproductive organs, such as tube tying.

Dentist

Dentists diagnose and treat problems with teeth and tissues in the mouth, along with giving advice and administering care to help prevent future problems. They provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care. They remove tooth decay, fill cavities, examine x rays, place protective plastic sealants on children's teeth, straighten teeth, and repair fractured teeth.

They also perform corrective surgery on gums and supporting bones to treat gum diseases. Dentists extract teeth and make models and measurements for dentures to replace missing teeth. They also administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.

Pathologist

Most of us have no idea what pathologists actually do. Many of us immediately think of a doctor performing autopsies and we shudder. However, we may be connected with pathologists directly or indirectly in many ways: the precise diagnosis of a great deal of diseases are made based on the work of pathologists, and in these cases their function is essential to the successful work of doctors in hospitals.

Pathologists who perform the biopsy of a specific pathognomic alteration themselves, then diagnose the disease by a microscopic examination.
